Palle Jerimiassen · Founder & local guide
Welcome to Ilulissat. To me, this isn’t just a destination — it’s home, heritage, and a lifelong passion.
Having served as Mayor of Avannaata Municipality and a local council member for three decades, I have spent much of my life working for and with the people of North Greenland. My deep roots in Ilulissat give me a unique understanding of our region’s history, culture, and nature — insights that I love sharing with visitors from all around the world.
Outside of my dedication to local governance and tourism, active community life has always been close to my heart. With a background of nearly 20 years leading the Greenland Handball Federation and a lifelong involvement in Arctic sports, I bring that same dedication, teamwork, and energy to every expedition we host at Ilulissat Event.
